Mike Kingswood Mike Kingswood
Bugle Instructor

Brief summery
I started playing trumpet at the age of 8 but quickly moved on to the trombone reaching Grade 5 standard. I've played in most things including orchestras, wind, jazz and dance bands and in 2007 took up the bugle. I currently help with the learners on a Tuesday evening. My wife, Pauline, and I also help with the fundraising for the band. We have 4 daughters who all play in the band; 3 on bell lyre and 1 on bugle & fife.

Banding highs
Seeing the commitment all the band members have both in competitions and parades.

Banding lows

Aspirations for the band
To become National Class champions.

Away from band
I work as a Research Chemist based in Tonbridge. When I do get spare time (which isn't often with 4 daughters) I enjoy cycling, playing squash or badminton, DIY, socialising with members of Tonbridge Round Table or generally just taking life easy. Music has for the most part been, and continues to be a very satisfying hobby for me.
