Brief summary
I first joined the band in 1981 on a bugle. I was soon transferred on to Bass Drum in the junior band on which I stayed until I was promoted to the senior band. After a few years on the bass drum I was transferred on to the Tri-toms which I played until I left the band in 1989 to go to University.

Whilst at University I came back on occasions to help out on the bass drum for parades when required. In 1994 I came back for a couple of years as an instructor in the junior band. I finally rejoined in 2000 to assist as a drum instructor - the rest is history.

• The reunion band performance at the Albert Hall in 1992

The lows

• Being asked to leave the arena in a competition, mid tune, when our drum major forgot to follow the correct protocol to start our performance.

Aspirations for the band

• For the children to get as much out of the band as I did.
• For them to have fun, gain great experience, build life long friendships with other members and leave with the best possible memories.

Away from band
I am a Director of Finance in the games industry. In the little free time I have I enjoy spending time with my wife, family and friends, exercising and watching rugby.
